01

Direct experience and research are not the same thing.

When we have recorded the route ourselves, field notes help explain how the terrain feels, where the pace changes and which decisions shape the day.

When a variant still depends on official sources, public tracks or third-party references, the guide says so explicitly. A researched route is not presented as a personal trail log.

02

The source depends on the claim.

CONANP, land managers and public authorities take priority for closures, fees, permits, hours and restrictions. Public tracks help compare geometry, distance and elevation gain when we do not have our own recording.

Discrepancies remain visible and figures stay approximate until the evidence is strong enough. Google Maps helps with navigation to the start; it does not prove difficulty, distance or park rules.

03

A guide cannot replace conditions on the day.

Weather, terrain, closures and the capacity of the group change. On technical or high-altitude routes, official notices, preparation, a turnaround time and the judgment to descend matter more than any published guide.

04

Illustrations interpret; they do not prove.

Editorial images may use artificial intelligence to translate a visual experience. They are not photographs, precise maps or evidence that a particular landmark belongs to the route.
